The Role: Driving Operational Excellence
As an Electrical Engineering Technician I, you are the primary driver of quality and safety in our field electrical maintenance operations. Your work directly impacts the profitability and lifecycle of our assets by ensuring that all contractor-led electrical maintenance, ranging from lighting and air-conditioning to motor systems, is executed to the highest technical and safety standards. You will prevent operational delays and rework by rigorously managing field activities, maintaining strict adherence to maintenance procedures, and serving as the essential link between our technical teams and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
• Verify and issue electrical work permits to contractors.
• Supervise contractors carrying out electrical maintenance on lighting, air-conditioning, motors, and related systems.
• Immediately intervene and report unsafe work practices.
• Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews with contractors.
• Ensure maintenance activities commence as scheduled.
• Identify and resolve field issues and escalate unresolved matters to the First Line Supervisor.
• Monitor contractor work quality to ensure compliance with Maintenance Procedures and Practices (MPP).
• Prevent rework through effective inspection and supervision.
• Provide daily progress updates to the First Line Supervisor and planner.
• Obtain appropriate approval before implementing changes to planned work.
• Inspect, verify, and accept completed contractor work.
Requirements
• Previous experience in electrical maintenance, engineering, or a closely related role.
• Relevant electrical certification or equivalent professional experience.
• Understanding of electrical maintenance and work permit procedures.
• Good knowledge of contractor supervision and field safety practices.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to identify field issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience: Oil & Gas, Industrial Electrical Maintenance, Contractor Supervision,
Electrical Safety.
