About the Role

As Content & Community Growth Coordinator you will lead the development and execution of C54News digital audience growth strategy across social media digital communities and emerging platforms.

Working closely with the Editorial Lead Creative & Multimedia Communications Officer and Executive Leadership you will help shape the public voice of C54News long before the first official broadcast.

You will transform ideas into conversations conversations into communities and communities into loyal audiences.

This role is ideal for someone who is intellectually curious culturally aware and deeply passionate about Africas future.

What Youll Be Responsible For

Community Growth

• Build and nurture vibrant digital communities around the C54News brand.
• Develop strategies that encourage meaningful audience participation rather than passive consumption.
• Foster conversations that position C54News as a trusted platform for African perspectives.

Content Strategy

• Develop and manage a multi-platform content calendar aligned with editorial priorities.
• Translate complex stories into engaging digital formats.
• Coordinate the publication of short-form long-form and multimedia content.
• Ensure consistency of voice quality and brand identity across all channels.

Audience Development

• Design campaigns that drive awareness engagement and audience growth before launch.
• Grow C54News presence across LinkedIn X Instagram YouTube Facebook and emerging digital platforms.
• Experiment with new formats and audience acquisition strategies.
• Monitor audience behaviour and continuously optimize performance.

Campaigns & Storytelling

• Support major campaigns including:
  • Founding Campus Commissioning
  • C54 Leadership Conversations
  • C54 Creators Lab Executive recruitment
  • Pan-African editorial initiatives
• Collaborate with the editorial and creative teams to produce compelling digital storytelling experiences.

Community Engagement

• Engage thoughtfully with audiences creators partners and stakeholders.
• Moderate discussions with professionalism and sound editorial judgment.
• Build relationships with influencers creators and thought leaders across Africa.

Analytics & Insights

• Track audience growth and engagement metrics.
• Produce monthly performance reports with actionable insights.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Marketing Digital Media or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in digital content community management media communications or audience development.
• Demonstrated experience growing digital communities and social platforms.
• Strong copywriting and editorial skills.
• Excellent understanding of platform-specific content strategies.
• Experience using digital analytics and social media management tools.
• Photography video editing or motion graphics experience is an advantage.

Success in This Role Looks Like

Within your first six months you will have helped C54News:

• Establish a distinctive digital voice.
• Build a highly engaged Pan-African online community.
• Grow audiences across key digital platforms.
• Successfully support the launch of the Founding Campus Commissioning and C54 Creators Lab.
