Nursery School Teacher

The Nursery School Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. The role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development while fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and learning activities in line with the school's curriculum.
  

• Foster children's intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development through play-based and structured learning.
  

• Encourage creativity, curiosity, and independent thinking in young learners.
  

• Teach foundational literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.
  

Classroom Management

• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  

• Establish classroom routines and manage student behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques.
  

• Ensure children are adequately supervised always.
  

Student Assessment and Development

• Observe, assess, and monitor children's progress and developmental milestones.
  

• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behaviour.
  

• Identify learning or developmental challenges and communicate concerns appropriately.
  

Child Welfare and Safety

• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom.
  

• Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies always.
  

• Respond appropriately to accidents, illnesses, or emergencies involving children.
  

Parent and Stakeholder Engagement

• Build positive relationships with parents and guardians.
  

• Provide regular feedback on children's progress, behaviour, and development.
  

• Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.
  

Administrative Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and classroom resources.
  

• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and educational displays.
  

• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, NCE, or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
  

• Previous experience teaching in a nursery or early years setting is preferred.
  

• Strong understanding of child development and early childhood learning principles.
  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  

• Passion for working with young children.
