Job descriptionBusiness Development Manager Industry: Medical Diagnostics / Healthcare Location: Lekki, Lagos Reporting To: General Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: ₦600,000 minimum (net) Experience Level: Minimum 5 years' experience in diagnostics in a relevant managerial role Mission / Core Purpose of the Role The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, expanding market share, and building strategic partnerships within the organization. The role involves developing and executing business strategies, conducting market and competitor analysis, and strengthening client relationships within the medical diagnostics and healthcare ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the Nigerian healthcare and diagnostics market to identify new business opportunities and convert them into long-term revenue streams. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy & Growth Develop and implement effective business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets. Identify new market opportunities and design actionable growth plans aligned with organizational objectives. Contribute to the development of long-term strategic business expansion plans. Market Research & Analysis Conduct detailed market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitor activities. Analyze market intelligence to support pricing strategies and service positioning. Monitor competitor offerings and recommend strategies to improve competitive advantage. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management Identify, engage, and build strong relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects through networking, cold calling, and referrals. Arrange and conduct client meetings, presentations, and business pitches. Sales & Revenue Generation Drive consistent sales performance and ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual targets. Prepare tailored proposals and presentations that address client needs and business objectives. Participate in pricing strategy development for services and solutions. Partnerships & Collaboration Develop and manage strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, HMOs, institutions, and corporate clients. Foster long-term relationships to enhance business sustainability and repeat business. Team Leadership Supervise and mentor junior business development executives. Provide guidance on lead generation, negotiation, and closing strategies. Ensure alignment of team activities with organizational goals. Reporting & Performance Management Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market activities. Track KPIs including lead conversion rates, revenue growth, and client acquisition metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management. Compliance & Professional Standards Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies and ethical standards. Maintain a high level of professionalism in client engagement and negotiations. Requirements / Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Master's Degree or professional certifications (CIM, PMP, Sales certifications) will be an added advantage. Experience Minimum of 5 years' experience in Business Development, Sales, or Revenue Growth roles. At least 4 years' experience in cold calling, lead generation, and sales pipeline development. Strong experience in medical diagnostics, healthcare, wellness, or related industry is required. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of the Nigerian healthcare and diagnostics market. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with CRM tools and sales tracking systems. Good understanding of pricing models and financial reporting basics.
