My Client, a   top multinational in the FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced   Research & Development (R&D) Manager   to lead product innovation, process optimization, and technical excellence at their Agbara operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Product Development :   Oversee product innovation from concept to commercialization, ensuring new formulations are factory-ready, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
  • Optimize Production Processes :   Coordinate continuous improvement projects focused on waste reduction, cost optimization, and line efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Functions :   Work with Group R&D, Quality, and Marketing teams to ensure new products meet both technical and consumer expectations.
  • Drive Quality & Compliance :   Develop and maintain product specifications and ensure full adherence to QHSE, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion Knowledge Transfer :   Support training of production operatives on new products, technologies, and manufacturing standards to ensure smooth transitions to large-scale production.
  • Document & Report Rigorously :   Maintain comprehensive records of all development activities, trials, and formulations, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
  • Partner with Third Parties :   Collaborate with external partners on product ideas, testing, and technical solutions to extend innovation capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.

    Who You Are

  • Educational & Professional Background :   Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Chemical Engineering. Minimum of   5 years’ experience   in R&D or product development within a reputable food manufacturing company.
  • Innovative Problem Solver :   You’re skilled at turning creative product concepts into commercially viable realities through technical expertise and disciplined execution.
  • Technically Grounded :   Strong understanding of food formulation, product testing, and manufacturing processes with excellent knowledge of quality standards.
  • Collaborative Leader :   Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage multiple stakeholders, and align cross-functional priorities.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented :   Comfortable with data, documentation, and technical reporting, ensuring accuracy and process compliance at all times.
  • Continuous Learner :   Curious, forward-thinking, and adaptable, always exploring new technologies and process improvements that enhance performance.
