Sales Executive – Construction / Building Materials

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Industry: Construction
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Structure: Hybrid (Field & Remote)
Salary Range: ₦150,000 – ₦230,000 Monthly + Performance-Based Incentives

Position Summary

The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic engagement with key stakeholders within the construction ecosystem, including contractors, architects, engineers, developers, and procurement professionals.

This role requires strong industry knowledge, relationship-building capability, and the ability to close high-value B2B transactions, particularly within the luxury finishing products segment (e.g., premium waterproofing solutions, kitchen fittings, and bathroom fixtures).

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities within the construction sector
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with contractors, engineers, architects, developers, and procurement teams
  • Promote and sell premium products including waterproofing materials, luxury kitchen faucets, and high-end bathroom fittings
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical briefings
  • Engage stakeholders early at the project planning stage to influence product specification
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close high-value and bulk transactions
  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets

2. Market Intelligence & Strategic Positioning

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and upcoming construction projects
  • Identify tendering, bidding, and partnership opportunities
  • Provide actionable market insights to support business strategy
  • Contribute to pricing strategy, product positioning, and go-to-market initiatives

3. Reporting & Performance Accountability

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions using CRM tools
  • Submit structured daily activity and sales reports
  • Provide weekly pipeline updates and performance reports
  • Ensure timely follow-ups and effective relationship management
  • Maintain proper documentation of all sales activities and client engagements

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM): Field visits, client meetings, site inspections, and administrative tasks
  • Saturday (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM): Strategy meetings, performance reviews, and team alignment sessions

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Building Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years proven sales experience in construction, building materials, or related sectors
  • Strong professional network within Nigeria's construction industry
  • Demonstrated track record of closing high-value B2B deals
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and structured reporting tools
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Compensation Structure

  • Total Monthly Package: ₦150,000 – ₦230,000+ (Performance-Based)
  • Base Salary: ₦120,000 – ₦150,000
  • Transportation Allowance: ₦10,000 – ₦30,000
  • Performance Incentives: Commission tied to revenue targets and deal closures

  • Consistent monthly revenue generation and pipeline growth
  • Strong engagement with key construction stakeholders
  • Timely submission of activity and performance reports
  • High conversion rate from leads to closed deals
  • Active participation in market expansion initiatives
