Adexen is mandated by a leading African conglomerate with a large-scale refining operation to recruit a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to maximize revenue across domestic and export markets.Responsibilities
The Senior Commercial Manager Refinery Sales is responsible for driving sales performance, pricing discipline, and customer management for refined petroleum products.The role ensures effective market placement of refinery output, optimized cash flow, and strong alignment between refinery operations and market demand.Develop and execute sales strategies for refined petroleum products (PMS, AGO, ATK, LPG, etc.)Drive domestic and export sales to optimize refinery capacity utilizationMonitor market trends, pricing benchmarks, and competitive dynamicsManage relationships with key customers, marketers, and distributorsLead commercial negotiations on pricing, volumes, delivery, and credit termsOversee execution of sales contracts and offtake agreementsCoordinate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance teamsEnsure compliance with commercial policies, governance standards, and regulationsLead and develop the refinery sales team.Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline1215+ years of experience in downstream oil & gas, refining, or energy tradingProven experience in refinery product sales and commercial negotiationsStrong understanding of domestic and export petroleum marketsStrong commercial and financial acumenExcellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsResults-driven mindset with high governance standardsLeadership and team development capability.
