Job Summary

  • Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing & Communications Intern to support the execution of the Corporation's marketing, branding, and communication initiatives.
  • The role offers early-career exposure ta dynamic, fast-paced environment where finance meets impact helping tell Africa's infrastructure transformation story.
  • The successful candidate will assist in content creation, digital marketing, event coordination, and research activities, contributing tAFC's visibility and reputation as Africa's leading multilateral development finance institution.
  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Digital Marketing & Content Support

  • Assist in managing AFC's social media platforms by scheduling posts, tracking engagement, and supporting analytics reporting.
  • Update AFC's website and digital platforms with fresh, relevant content in line with corporate messaging and brand guidelines.
  • Events Support

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of AFC events, sponsorships, and marketing campaigns.
  • Support the preparation of marketing materials such as event toolkits, media pitches and postevent reports.
  • Contribute tcreative brainstorming sessions for campaigns and special initiatives.
  • Communications & Media Support

  • Draft and edit communication materials including internal memos, newsletters, and social media captions.
  • Maintain media and stakeholder databases, helping track AFC's media coverage and visibility.
  • Assist in developing content for AFC's internal communications platforms and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Administrative & Team Support

  • Coordinate meeting logistics, draft minutes, and manage documentation for marketing and communications projects.
  • Support procurement processes related tvendors, creative agencies, and service providers.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and records are organised and archived efficiently.
  • Education

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or the humanities from an accredited university
  • Experience and Competencies

  • While extensive experience is not required as this is a good developmental opportunity, work experience in communications, marketing or related fields is an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability tmanage multiple projects and meet deadlines simultaneously
  • Exceptional writing skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory while oral and written fluency in other international
  • languages will be an added advantage.
