Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant with a strong understanding of Nigerian financial compliance laws. The ideal candidate should have both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in handling statutory remittances, company and employee tax matters, and advanced accounting practices. This role requires someone detail-oriented, well-versed in regulatory reporting, and capable of aligning company finances with national standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Handle company-wide accounting functions, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
Ensure full compliance with Nigerian statutory regulations including :
PAYE (Pay-As-You-Earn)
Pension (PENCOM)
National Housing Fund (NHF)
Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF)
Industrial Training Fund (ITF)
Prepare and file monthly / quarterly / annual tax and statutory returns accurately and on time.
Advise management on financial decisions with consideration for tax liabilities and compliance implications.
Support payroll calculations and deductions in line with statutory requirements.
Perform bank reconciliations, budget planning, and forecasting.
Ensure employee deductions and company contributions are remitted correctly and timely.
Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as needed.
Recommend process improvements to enhance financial operations and compliance.
Requirements
Experience managing accounts, filing taxes, interfacing with Federal / State tax offices
BSc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, or ACCA is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in accounting, with a strong focus on Nigerian statutory compliance.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory bodies.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Excel).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
