Job Description

We are seeking a versatile and technically proficient EV & Solar Engineer with strong electrical and electronics expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of solar and EV projects—from system design and measurement to installation, testing, and maintenance. The ideal candidate must be able to design, assemble, and manage solar systems of varying capacities, handle batteries and inverters with confidence, and oversee EV infrastructure projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

System Design, Measurement & Analysis :

Design complete solar power systems including PV layouts, inverters, batteries, and controllers.

Measure and size systems based on site assessments, load analysis, and client requirements.

Develop wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and 3D layouts using industry-standard software.

Integrate solar and grid power for EV charging systems and renewable energy setups.

Ensure all designs adhere to Nigerian electrical codes and renewable energy standards.

Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance :

Supervise and participate in solar system installations from start to finish.

Handle electrical and electronic components including inverters, charge controllers, and battery packs.

Install and maintain EV charging stations and related electrical infrastructure.

Test systems for performance, troubleshoot faults, and perform corrective maintenance.

Ensure all safety procedures and quality control standards are strictly followed.

Battery & Power Management :

Assemble, test, and maintain various types of battery systems (Li-ion, AGM, Gel, etc.).

Implement proper battery management systems (BMS) and energy storage solutions.

Monitor energy production and consumption to ensure system efficiency and stability.

Innovation & Integration :

Research and apply new technologies in EV systems, solar power, and energy automation.

Work with AI-powered design or monitoring tools to improve system accuracy and responsiveness.

Contribute to the development of hybrid energy solutions and off-grid EV charging systems.

Documentation & Collaboration :

Prepare detailed technical reports, system drawings, and project documentation.

Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and contractors during all project stages.

Provide client training and operational guidance on installed systems.

Requirements

Education & Experience :

BSc / MSc in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.

2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in solar power system design, installation, and maintenance.

Experience with EV charging systems or power electronics is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills :

Strong practical knowledge of electrical wiring, power electronics, and circuit systems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp, or similar solar design software.

Ability to measure, design, and implement solar power systems end-to-end.

Expertise in battery systems, inverters, and electrical safety practices.

Familiarity with EV charging technologies, components, and installation requirements.

Understanding of energy storage, load management, and smart grid integration.

Professional Certifications :

COREN or NSE registration (or in progress) is desirable.

Certification in Solar Energy Design or Installation (e.g., GIZ, NAPTIN, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

Personal Attributes :

Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent hands-on ability with electronics and system integration.

Professional, reliable, and adaptable to field and office environments.

Strong teamwork and communication skills with a focus on results.

Benefits

Opportunity to work on cutting-edge EV and solar infrastructure projects.
