Plant Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a plant manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes for our 100 Tons per-day Casava Starch Plant. The goal is to ultimately grow the plant to 200 Tons per day Casava Starch producing other by-products such as Sorbitol, Casava Chips, Casava flour, etc. We are a business conglomerate that has been in business for over 40 years with interests in finance, real estate, retail and wholesale, and manufacturing. Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet targets
• Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining industry quality standards
• Responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
• Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
• Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
• Commit to plant safety procedures
• Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
• Address employees’ issues or grievances
• Influence and learn from below
• Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts
• Consult with Human Resources as necessary
• Ensure that proper safety methods are used in the department as specified by Loss Prevention
• Ensure the team maintains an orderly and clean department.
• Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Masters in Business Administration is preferred.
• Proven work experience as a Plant Manager 5 years minimum
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office a must ﴾Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word﴿
• Strong Project management background and experience
• Performance management understanding and best practices
• Proven and verified experience in Coaching, Supervision, and fostering a teamwork environment
• Proven and verified experience developing budgets and standards
• Technically Competent and given to Quality management
• Giving feedback creating and presenting reports to different levels of management.

• Proven managerial experience
• Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources)
• Familiarity with industry-specific (Casava) standard equipment and technical expertise
• Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes
• Computer literacy
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
• Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
