The Knowledge Management and Communications Officer will play a pivotal role in managing the consultancy’s knowledge assets and ensuring effective communication across internal and external platforms. The officer will design and maintain systems for capturing, organizing, and disseminating insights while developing targeted communication products to inform, influence, and engage diverse stakeholders in the development sector.
4. Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge Management
- Design, implement, and maintain knowledge-management systems, including repositories, databases, and intranet platforms.
- Capture, synthesize, and document lessons learned, case studies, and best practices from projects and engagements.
- Ensure timely updating and accessibility of knowledge resources for internal teams and clients.
- Communications
- Develop and implement communication strategies to strengthen internal collaboration and external visibility.
- Produce, edit, and disseminate high-quality communication products, including reports, policy briefs, newsletters, fact sheets, infographics, and digital content.
- Manage organizational digital presence, including social media, website updates, and online campaigns.
- Coordinate and facilitate knowledge-sharing events, workshops, webinars, and communities of practice.
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge products and communication initiatives using qualitative and quantitative indicators.
- Prepare reports highlighting reach, engagement, and outcomes of communication and KM efforts.
5. Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Development Studies, Information / Knowledge Management, Social Sciences, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in knowledge management and / or communications, ideally within the international development, NGO, or public sector.Demonstrated experience producing communication products for development stakeholders.Familiarity with development cooperation, policy processes, and thematic areas such as health, education, governance, or climate change is an asset.6. Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills with the ability to translate technical content into clear, engaging language.Proficiency in digital media management and communication platforms (e.g., social media, content management systems).Strong knowledge of knowledge-management tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, knowledge repositories).Ability to design and deliver presentations, training sessions, and workshops.Strong organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills.Experience engaging with multi-stakeholder audiences, including government, NGOs, donors, and communities.Fluency in English required; knowledge of French or other international languages is an advantage.7.
