Our client is a foremost payment, telecom, and enterprise solutions company has been licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission, seeks for a VAS Content & Product Manager. The VAS Content & Product Manager will be responsible for driving the creation, development, and rollout of innovative Value-Added Service (VAS) across Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who understands the VAS ecosystem, builds strong partnerships with content providers, and develops consumer-friendly products that increase engagement and revenue. The ideal candidate is enterprising, out-of-the box in thinking, and able to see the bigger picture of VAS business growth
Job Responsibilities
Product Development & Innovation :
- Identify, design, and launch engaging VAS products tailored for Nigerian and African consumers.
- Translate market trends and consumer insights into innovative product ideas.
- Ensure products are commercially viable, scalable, and aligned with MNO requirements.
Content Management :
Build and manage partnerships with content providers (music, sports, education, gaming, infotainment, etc.).Curate, evaluate, and integrate high-quality content into VAS products.Continuously monitor content performance and refresh offerings to maintain consumer interest.Strategic Growth & Partnerships :
Work closely with MNOs and aggregators to secure product placement and favourable commercial terms.Explore partnership opportunities with local and international content creators.Support the overall business strategy to expand the company VAS’s footprint.Market & Competitive Analysis :
Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to identify successful VAS trends in the market.Benchmark the company's VAS products against top players to ensure competitiveness.Provide insights and recommendations for new opportunities.Operational Oversight :
Collaborate with technical and operations teams to ensure smooth product integration and delivery.Monitor KPIs such as subscriber uptake, usage, churn, and revenue per product.Provide regular product performance reports to management.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (advanced degree an advantage).Minimum 5 years’ experience in the VAS, telecom, or digital content industry.Strong track record of developing and managing successful VAS products.Experience working with MNOs, aggregators, and third-party content providers.Excellent negotiation, partnership-building, and relationship management skills.Strong creativity, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to think strategically
