Nenu is a clean energy manufacturing company focused on the production and scale-up of clean and improved cookstoves that reduce fuel consumption, indoor air pollution, and carbon emissions.
We are looking to recruit a Graduate Trainee Mechanical Engineer to support our cookstove manufacturing and production operations. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to gain hands-on factory experience , develop strong mechanical engineering skills, and contribute to climate-impact projects.
The trainee will receive structured on-the-job training across fabrication, assembly, quality control, and basic production engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Support the fabrication and assembly of improved cookstove componentsAssist in production line setup, workflow improvement, and basic production planningSupport routine maintenance and troubleshooting of fabrication equipmentsSupport quality control checks to ensure stoves meet design and performance standardsAssist with documentation of production processes, SOPs, etcSupport pilot deployments and field feedback integration into design improvementsComply with factory safety, quality, and environmental proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve outputPerform other engineering-related duties as assignedRequirements
B.Eng / B.Sc / HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline02 years experienceBasic understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, welding, machining)Interest in clean energy, climate solutions, or sustainable manufacturingWillingness to work in a factory and occasionally support field activitiesGood communication and teamwork skillsProficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD or SolidWorksSkills & Competencies
