Job Summary
The Design Officer (Architecture) is responsible for developing innovative, functional, and sustainable architectural designs for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.The role requires strong technical proficiency, creativity, and a sound understanding of construction processes, building codes, and project coordination.The position supports the Technical Division in translating project briefs and concepts into executable designs, ensuring design accuracy, quality, and alignment with the company's standards and client expectations.Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design & Documentation :
Develop architectural concepts, schematic designs, and detailed working drawings for assigned projects.Prepare and present design proposals that meet functional, aesthetic, and sustainability requirements.Produce high-quality architectural drawings, layouts, and visualizations using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.Support in developing construction details, material specifications, and design schedules.Ensure that all drawings and designs comply with local building codes, regulatory standards, and company policies.Design Coordination & Collaboration :
Work closely with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure design integration and technical accuracy.Collaborate with the project management and site teams to ensure smooth translation of designs into construction.Attend design review meetings, providing professional input and resolving design-related queries.Support the preparation of design documentation for internal and external approvals.Quality & Compliance :
Conduct design quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across deliverables.Ensure all design works adhere to company quality standards, health and safety regulations, and statutory guidelines.Maintain an organized archive of design files and project documentation for easy retrieval and reference.Innovation & Continuous Improvement :
Research emerging design trends, sustainable technologies, and best practices to enhance the company's design capability.Propose innovative solutions to improve design efficiency, space utilization, and aesthetic value.Participate in design workshops, brainstorming sessions, and training activities aimed at improving team performance.Project Support :
Assist in preparing bills of quantities, cost estimates, and material schedules in collaboration with the Quantity Surveying team.Support tender documentation and project proposal development through accurate design inputs.Participate in site visits to monitor design implementation and resolve architectural issues during construction.Key Performance Indicator (KPIs)
Accuracy and quality of design outputs.Timeliness of design delivery relative to project schedules.Compliance with building codes, standards, and internal quality benchmarks.Level of innovation and creativity in design solutions.Effective coordination and feedback from internal and external stakeholders.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a recognized institution (Master's degree is an advantage).Licensed Architect (preferred or added advantage).Minimum of 23 years of relevant experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure design.Proven experience in preparing architectural drawings, models, and documentation.Strong understanding of building codes, construction processes, and project management principles.Skills and Competencies :
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other architectural visualization tools (Lumion, Enscape, etc.).Strong creative and conceptual design ability.Excellent attention to detail and technical precision.Good communication and teamwork skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Knowledge of sustainable design and modern architectural trends.https : / / bilaadportal.com / jobs / design-officer-i-11
