Job Summary

  • The Site Supervisor / Veterinary Officer oversees daily livestock operations, staff supervision, and animal health management at the farm site.
  • The role ensures proper animal care, treatment administration, biosecurity compliance, and operational reporting while ensuring all farm SOPs are followed by staff.
  • The Site Supervisor / Veterinary Officer is responsible for managing daily farm operations, supervising farm attendants, ensuring animal welfare, and maintaining operational discipline.
  • The role ensures farm processes follow established SOPs and that production, treatment, and operational records are properly maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily farm operations including feeding, watering, cleaning, and animal handling.
  • Ensure all farm staff strictly follow their assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor livestock health and identify early signs of disease or stress.
  • Administer treatments, vaccinations, and medications as required.
  • Maintain treatment records, mortality records, and daily observation reports.
  • Supervise farm attendants and ensure tasks are properly completed.
  • Enforce farm biosecurity protocols and hygiene procedures.
  • Conduct daily farm inspections and report operational issues.
  • Coordinate with the Storekeeper for feed, medication, and equipment requisitions.
  • Verify and sign for farm deliveries before the Storekeeper takes custody of items.
  • Prepare and submit operational reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure proper handling and welfare of animals at all times.
  • Assist in training farm attendants on farm procedures and animal care.
  • Support emergency response in cases of disease outbreaks or operational issues.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or related fields.

Experience:

  • 2 - 4 years experience working in livestock or farm operations.
  • Experience supervising farm workers is an advantage.
  • Experience in livestock health management is preferred.
