About Company: Our client is a leading Civil Engineering and Construction firm in Nigeria.
The company is seeking to hire an experienced Material Control Auditor who will provide independent oversight of the company’s materials and inventory management processes to ensure accountability, accuracy, and proper utilization of resources.
The role exists to verify that materials received, stored, issued, and consumed are properly documented and aligned with project requirements, while preventing losses arising from under-delivery, theft, diversion, inflated usage reporting, or unauthorized withdrawals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct periodic and surprise physical stock counts (spot checks).
Reconcile physical stock with ERP records (Navision Business Central).
Investigate stock shortages, overages, and negative balances and stock adjustment entries for adequacy of support.
Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and Verify inventory valuation accuracy
Review Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), Waybills, SRVs for completeness and accuracy.
Confirm delivered quantities match Purchase Orders and invoices and detect under-delivery.
Identify duplicate receipt postings and review material issuance logs.
Assess segregation of duties between receiving and recording functions.
Confirm materials issued align with approved project/work orders and detect undocumented material withdrawals.
Review job cards and work orders in Wood and Mechanical Workshops.
Evaluate documentation of finished goods and dispatch records.
Assess scrap generation and disposal controls and escalate material control breaches promptly.
Prepare detailed audit working papers, draft audit reports with risk ratings and recommendations.
Follow up on implementation of corrective actions and provide periodic stock risk reports to management.
Sighting and verifying and endorsing all procured materials to the company.
Signing and Monitoring all Internal Request Vouchers including diesel and fuel.
Keep appropriate track of all PVs, Waybills signed off on the excel tracker.
Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Chief Internal Auditor
Requirements
Key Requirements
B.Sc in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field. ICAN or CFE is needed.
3-7 years’ experience in Internal Control, Inventory, Audit, warehouse management, or workshop operations, preferably in a construction, manufacturing or general utilities environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems (Navision Business Central)
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
Good communication, quantitative, analytical and investigative skills.

Compensation: Basic Pay is N450k – N500k monthly net + other benefits
