Job Description· Plan, supervise, and coordinate all civil engineering and building construction activities from project commencement to completion.
· Interpret and implement architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering drawings and specifications.
· Oversee site setting-out, surveys, and layout preparation to ensure accuracy before construction activities commence.
· Supervise and coordinate site engineers, builders, contractors, subcontractors, artisans, labourers, and other site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
· Monitor project schedules and ensure construction activities are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
· Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, the National Building Code, and relevant engineering standards.
· Conduct routine site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project requirements.
· Manage construction materials, equipment, and labour resources efficiently to minimise waste and optimise project costs.
· Implement and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and ensure compliance across all project sites.
· Coordinate consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth project execution.
· Review contractors' work, certify completed works where applicable, and monitor adherence to contractual obligations.
· Identify engineering challenges, project risks, and construction delays, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
· Prepare work programmes, project schedules, progress reports, technical documentation, and management updates.
· Provide technical support for infrastructure works, building maintenance, renovations, and engineering consultancy assignments where required.
· Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, within budget, and in accordance with agreed timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng./B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering.
- Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory.
- Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is required.
- Minimum of 10–15 years' progressive experience in civil engineering, building construction, and construction project management.
- Must possess extensive hands-on experience supervising building construction projects, with responsibilities including site coordination, quality control, interpretation of architectural and structural drawings, contractor management, and project delivery from foundation to completion.
- Proven experience delivering residential estates, commercial developments, high-rise buildings, and mixed-use developments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple construction teams and large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
