ACCOUNTANT-FINTECH

Summary :

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning within the fintech ecosystem. This role requires expertise in financial reporting, digital transactions, and

financial risk management while working closely with leadership to drive financial growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting for the fintech business.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including fintech-specific policies (e.g., CBN, SEC, IFRS, and tax laws).
• Manage revenue streams from digital transactions, payments, and financial services.
• Develop financial strategies to optimize cash flow, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
• Collaborate with technology and product teams to integrate accounting best practices into financial systems.
• Oversee audits, reconciliations, and financial risk assessments.
• Develop relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
• Provide financial insights and reports to executive leadership for strategic decision- making.
• Lead fundraising, investment, and partnership initiatives where applicable.
• Stay up to date with trends in financial technology, cryptocurrency, and digital payments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Masters degree is a plus).
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CFA, ICAN) is required.
• 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of digital payment systems, blockchain, or financial technology operations.
• Experience in financial modeling, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
