Job description

Our client is building the fraud and risk infrastructure powering Africa’s digital economy. They help banks, fintechs, and crypto platforms detect and block fraud in real time, through AI-powered tools for transaction monitoring, identity analysis, and risk scoring.

Role Overview

Our client is hiring a mid-level Business Development Manager based in Lagos to lead sales efforts across Nigeria’s most innovative fintechs, wallets, crypto platforms, and lending companies.

This role is best suited for someone who’s sold fintech or SaaS products before, thrives in early-stage environments, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. You’ll own deals end-to-end from first meeting to close, and you’ll help shape our go-to-market strategy in Nigeria.

You’ll also occasionally support traditional enterprise sales efforts (e.g., banks, telcos, insurance firms).

Job Type : Full-time / Permanent

Location : Lagos, Nigeria (full time, with potential travel requirements)

Workplace : Hybrid

Requirements

  • 3–7 years experience in sales or partnerships, preferably in fintech, SaaS, or financial services
  • Comfortable selling technical products. Bonus if you’ve sold fraud, AML, or compliance tools
  • Experience in startup environments where you had to build your own structure. Project management and comfort with ambiguity are essential.
  • Based in Lagos all year round and able to attend in-person meetings when needed
  • Self-starter who can handle ambiguity, work without micromanagement, and adapt on the fly
  • Feedback oriented and embraces feedback from the rest of the team and our client’s customers
  • Clear communicator, strong closer, and not afraid to chase a deal
  • Experience working with product or technical teams to translate customer feedback into action

Responsibilities

  • Sell our client’s fraud prevention platform to high-growth fintechs, crypto players, wallets, and digital lenders
  • Own the full sales cycle : sourcing leads, running discovery, managing demos, and closing deals
  • Track and report sales progress using a CRM
  • Support inbound leads with fast follow-up and tailored pitches
  • Collaborate with the cofounders and other teams to refine messaging, product fit, and GTM
  • Build strong relationships with prospective customers to support deal closing and long-term growth. This includes but is not limited to in-person meetings, reactivating cold leads, and staying engaged throughout the sales cycle
  • Occasionally support in-person meetings with banks and more traditional financial institutions in Lagos and Abuja
