Our Client in the IT Industry is searching for a highly skilled Senior Desktop Application Developer to lead the end-to-end build of the company's cross-platform desktop application. This role requires you to architect, design, and implement a performant desktop app that runs seamlessly across Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu , while shaping the technical foundation for the company's global device management capabilities. Who We Are Looking For...

You’re an experienced desktop engineer who understands how systems behave beneath the UI and you’re comfortable building secure, performant applications that interact with native OS services.
You have deep experience developing desktop applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux (Ubuntu)
You’re comfortable architecting complex systems and owning technical decisions end-to-end
You write efficient, maintainable code and understand system-level performance considerations
You’re passionate about native processes, telemetry, secure data handling, and cross-platform engineering
You enjoy working in a product-driven environment and collaborating with backend and DevOps teams
You’re a self-starter who likes owning a product from zero-to-one

Your Responsibilities...

You will design and build the company's cross-platform desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu

You will develop background services to securely collect and transmit system telemetry to the company's cloud platform

You will implement secure integrations with AI-powered backend services

You will architect communication flows between native system agents and the main desktop interface

You will ensure the application meets performance, security, and privacy standards (including encryption & GDPR compliance)

You will collaborate with backend and DevOps teams on API integration, data handling, and CI / CD automation

You will create standards for unit testing, integration testing, and multi-OS reliability

You will participate in documentation, code reviews, and system design meetings

You will serve as the subject matter expert for all desktop application engineering across the company.

A stable, performant desktop app running across all supported operating systems

Efficient, secure telemetry pipelines reliably transmitting data to the company's platform

Low-latency communication between native services and the main desktop interface

Strong development standards in place — testing, CI / CD workflows, documentation

Smooth collaboration across engineering teams, with clear architectural ownership

Early users reporting high reliability, low resource usage, and seamless onboarding

The foundation of a scalable desktop engineering function at the company

To Be Considered for This Role, You Should…

Demonstrated experience developing and deploying on Windows, macOS, and Linux

Strong proficiency in C++, Rust, C# / .NET, or Swift for native system services

Experience building UI layers using Electron, Tauri, or similar frameworks

Ability to design optimized background processes without impacting system performance

Deep understanding of system telemetry, secure data handling, and device monitoring

Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with OAuth2.0, JWT, or similar auth flows

Strong Git proficiency and modern development workflow experience

Solid understanding of encryption, secure storage, sandboxing, and application security

Familiarity with Rust for performance-intensive modules

Experience with AI-driven integrations or real-time chat interfaces

Understanding of cloud-native telemetry pipelines

Exposure to CI / CD, automated testing frameworks, and MDM deployment strategies
