Candidate will supports the chefs and cook in preparing food and maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen. Experienced in cooking competitive Nigerian foods in large scale on a daily basis is a plus. Experience in working at a restaurant / food service business is another plus. 1. Bulk Food Preparation Support : - Assist in large-scale prep of ingredients (e.g., chopping, slicing, marinating) according to standardized recipes. - Pre-cook or partially prepare food items that will be finished the next day of sales - Portion and package ingredients or finished dishes for transport to sales stations 2. Equipment and Workspace Management : - Operate basic kitchen equipment such as mixers, food processors, and slicers. - Clean and sanitize workstations and food prep equipment after use. - Assist with setup and breakdown of prep areas at the start and end of shifts. 3. Packaging and Labeling : - Package meals and ingredients according to food truck menu requirements. - Label containers with accurate product names, use-by dates, and allergen information. - Ensure packaging is secure and suitable for transport. 4. Inventory and Stock Handling : - Receive and unpack bulk deliveries of food and supplies. - Organize inventory and rotate stock to minimize waste. - Assist in preparing ingredient kits or boxes for each truck's daily service. 5. Hygiene and Food Safety Compliance : - Follow strict food safety procedures, including correct storage and handling of raw and cooked items. - Wear proper protective clothing (hairnets, gloves, aprons) as required by health codes. - Keep logs of cleaning, temperature checks, and other HACCP documentation if required. 6. Support Logistics and Distribution : - Help load food and supplies into delivery vehicles bound for food trucks. - Communicate any issues with prep quality, shortages, or equipment to supervisors promptly.
